Disney Pixar has released numerous anthropomorphic films, including but not limited to “Monsters Inc.,” “Finding Nemo,” “Ratatouille” and “Wall-E.” Among them, “Cars” – released in 2006 – was unique in its take on typically inanimate objects. The first installment of the film franchise was so well-received that it was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film in 2007. That nomination was one of two the film received that year.
Following the initial release of “Cars,” two sequels have been made as of 2022. “Cars 2” and “Cars 3” were released in 2011 and 2017 respectively. Actors Owen Wilson, Bonnie Hunt, and Paul Newman have lent their voices to the films.

What car is Lightning McQueen?
So, what kind of a car is the film’s lead: Lighting McQueen? According to Looper, unlike other automobile-based characters in the films which are easier to identify, Lighting McQueen’s design is inspired by not one but multiple cars.
John Lasseter, the director of the first two films, told the Los Angeles Times that he and his team had designed McQueen with a mix between a stock car and a more curvaceous Le Mans endurance racer in mind, “with some Lola and some [Ford] GT40.”
In addition to McQueen’s design elements, his character’s famous catchphrase “Ka-Chow!” has made him a crowd-favorite. “He’s the new rookie, he’s kinda sexy, he’s fast, he’s different,” production designer Bob Pauley said in an interview with AutoWeek. “We took the best of our favorite things, from GT40s to Chargers… just sketching them out, we came up with what McQueen looks like.”
