The Midnights singer walked the Grammys red carpet in a custom Roberto Cavalli cropped look in a very on-brand midnight blue color paired with Giuseppe Zanotti heels. The statement accessory of choice for the singer-songwriter were a pair of massive Lorraine Schwartz earrings featuring purple sapphires. Swift is notorious for leaving discreet Easter eggs in her music videos, song lyrics and fashion for her fans to investigate. The purple diamond earrings could have simply been a sparkly accessory—or a sparkly hint at the singer’s next album.
Fans are speculating that the purple diamonds are an Easter egg for a forthcoming re-recorded version of Swift’s Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) album. The 2010 album cover shows Swift in an iconic purple dress and as fans know, every album signifies a different era that is distinct in color.
We obviously won’t know if the speculations are true until the “Bejeweled” singer reveals the truth but until then, we can shop purple diamond earrings in anticipation that a Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) era is coming.
