Supermodel Stephanie Seymour is remembering her late son Harry Brant through the lens of fashion.

Seymour, 54, appeared on the cover of WSJ. Magazine‘s Spring 2023 Women’s Fashion Issue to discuss her grieving process and Brant’s longtime love of fashion, dating back to his elementary school days.

“I would say, ‘OK, you can choose my outfit,’ and then he would go through everything, the vintage, the everything, lay it all on the floor,” she recalled, adding that Brant would style her for parent-teacher conferences.

Brant, a rising model and son of Seymour and publisher Peter M. Brant, died at age 24 in January 2021 “due to an accidental overdose of prescription medication,” Seymour and Brant said in an emailed statement to USA TODAY at the time. “We will forever be saddened that Harry’s life was cut short by this devastating disease.”

Seymour took a page from Brant’s styling book once again, wearing her late son’s Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane suit for her WSJ. Magazine cover.

“It’s a suit that I keep hanging in my dressing room, which is this big room where I keep all my stuff. I do my makeup there. I live in that room,” the supermodel said. “I looked at that suit one night and I said, ‘I’m going to put it on.’ It fit me.”

Seymour has found comfort in Harry’s closet. “It still feels so good to put his clothes on. I packed up these huge trunks with all his things, and I have this idea that I want to keep photographing his clothes because I think he would love it.”
