Woman in her 90s killed after her mobility scooter is hit by motorbike as motorcyclist rushed to hospital

AN ELDERLY woman has been killed after her mobility scooter was smashed into by a motorbike.
The OAP, in her 90s, suffered severe injuries and died at the scene, while the biker was rushed to hospital.

Cops confirmed the horror collision took place in Christchurch, Dorset at around 11am on January 30 and are appealing for witnesses.
The road has been closed and investigations into the circumstances of the smash are ongoing.
A post-mortem is scheduled to take place to determine the woman’s cause of death and an inquest will be opened and adjourned by Dorset coroner.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 11am of a collision in Hoburne Lane at the junction with Primrose Way involving a motorbike and amobilityscooter.
“The rider of the scooter – a woman aged in her 90s – sustained very serious injuries and sadly died at the scene. Her family has been informed.
“The male motorcyclist was taken to hospital for treatment.”
