Urgent hunt for man after young woman raped in city centre as cops release CCTV

COPS are urgently hunting a man after a women was raped in a horror city centre attack.
Merseyside Police have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the attack against a young woman in Liverpool in the early hours of January 29.

Detective Inspector Laura Lamping said: “We think the man pictured may have vital information to help our enquiries so if you know him, please come forward as soon as possible.
“If you recognise him, or this image jogs your memory about any suspicious behaviour you may have seen in the area on Sunday 29 January please do let us know.
“We understand the concern that such serious offences can cause and I want to assure people we are assessing all possible evidence to establish what happened.”

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Merseyside Police on 101 and quote reference 23000084081.

If you wish to report a sexual assault, you can call 101 and be transferred to specially trained support officers.
You can also call the Rape Crisis helpline 0808 802 9999, which is open from midday to 2.30pm and 7pm to 9.30pm every day of the year.
