1Mason Clarkson Carter died suddenly aged 13His aunt described the South Cave Sporting FC player as a “class clown” with a “great sense of humour”.
Emma Barnes told HullLive: “He had lots of friends and a great sense of humour, but it was always getting him into trouble and in detention.”
Mason had been in action on the football pitch just seven days before his death on November 17.
After he fell ill, he was twice taken to hospital before being sent home.
Emma added: “It has come as such a shock to the family, he had his whole life ahead of him.
“He was running around playing football the week before he passed away and was such a sporty, healthy lad.”
Mason’s club said the 13-year-old was a “beautiful boy” who will be missed but never forgotten.
Teachers at South Hunsley School where he studied remembered him as a “cheeky chappy with an infectious smile”.
