Thieves steal 200,000 Cadbury Creme eggs before cops manage to crack the case

THIEVES nearly threw Easter into doubt by stealing 200,000 Cadbury’s creme eggs from an industrial estate.
Cops managed to crack the case after the sweet treats vanished from a unit in Telford, Shropshire on February 11.

The force confirmed that a 32-year-old had been arrested and charged with criminal damage and theft after being stopped on the M42.
They added that the stolen sweets were worth around £40,000 and hailed officers’ efforts, saying that they had “saved Easter”.
West Mercia Police said that, given that charges had been brought, they were unable to comment further on the case.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Market Drayton station replied to news the haul had been recovered, telling police “egg-cellent work by all involved”.
