WITNESSES have told how a schoolboy was stabbed outside a Sainsbury’s by a thug with a machete in broad daylight.
The 15-year-old was attacked by the on Sutton High Street near Crown Road around 4pm on Monday while parents and kids cowered in fear.

One witness told MyLondon: “I was on my way to work and I saw two young boys running out of Sainsbury’s at the bottom of Sutton. One with a machete and the other one unarmed.
“They literally ran straight past me and I froze. I watched this boy get chased across the road past Halfords and then into the road by the Crown bus stop. There he got stabbed and collapsed but then ran off.
“I tried to find him but I couldn’t. I told the staff in Sainsbury’s who had already seen them running through the shop and were onto it. It was actually quite frightening I rushed to get into work.”
Another passerby was with their baby when they saw thugs in “balaclava” arrive on the scene.
They explained: “We were there in the car park just getting out of our car to enter the shop.
“We have a seven-month-old and we were completely taken by surprise. We just tried to hide to stay away.”
A Met Police spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing. Any witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting CAD 4873/13Feb.
