Mum-of-five and pal killed after they were hit by car while walking on country lane in the dark

TRIBUTES have been paid to a tragic mum-of-five killed while walking on a country road with a friend.
Kayleigh Cornwell, 32, and Jason Morgan, also 32, died after they were struck by a Ford Focus in Pontypridd, South Wales.

Kayleigh’s devastated family have now paid tribute to the mum, who was more than 200 miles from her home in Hampshire at the time of the crash.
They said: “Kayleigh was a daughter, sister and mother to five beautiful children who she adored and was adored by them.
“Kayleigh had a troubled life but made the best of it and could see a future. We are all heartbroken.

“We hope Kayleigh is at peace and goes onto a better life, knowing how much she was truly loved by us all.”
Jason’s family said they are “grateful to everybody involved and their thoughts are with the driver.
It is understood the trio were on a dark road walking from his home in Ynysybwl when they were hit by the car.
The driver remained at the scene and is assisting officers.

South Wales Police have launched an investigation and are appeal for information.
The force said: “Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have any dash-cam footage of the incident.
“We are not looking for anyone else in connection to this incident.
“Our thoughts remain with all those affected by this incident.
