A WOMAN who was abused by David Carrick for four years told The Sun she hopes the sadistic cop “rots behind bars”.
The victim, who watched via a video link as the sick police officer was sentenced to life in prison yesterday, said “the Met have a lot to answer for” after they missed nine opportunities to stop him.

“When they read the impact statements I realised how similar all of our stories were. He’s an evil, evil monster. He could have killed any of us.
“We thought he would get 15 years. When she said 30 we were shocked and pleased. I hope he never gets out.”
On how the monster has changed her life, she said: “I don’t think I’ll ever be able to have another relationship. He’s ruined that for me completely.
“I won’t trust a man ever again, even if it’s good man. How can I ever know he won’t hurt me?
“The Met have a lot to answer for and they need to step up. The police who I have been working with have been very good and I’m grateful to them.
“But the Met let him stay in the police for so many years and they knew. More will come out and this isn’t the end of this.”
She first met Carrick in 2017 on a dating app and he asked if she would come round and clean for him once a week as she had worked as a professional cleaner.
The woman, whose victim impact statement was read in court on Monday, watched the sentencing with a group of other victims on a video link.
For years the victim – who cannot be named for legal reasons – thought she was the only one Carrick, 48, had raped and tortured.
She was too scared to tell anyone what was happening and only felt safe to report her hell after news broke of his arrest in October 2021 and she saw his face on television.
Sadistic Carrick was nicked after another female victim bravely reported him to police.
She said: “If it wasn’t for that first woman we wouldn’t have come forward, none of us. He would still be working for the Met and I would have still been going round to his house. I’ve thanked her in person and said well done for coming forward. We owe her a lot.”
When she heard that Carrick showed no emotions during the sentencing, she said: “I wanted to see his face to see what he was like. The fact that he didn’t move shows he just doesn’t care.”
Her victim impact statement was read aloud in court by prosecutor Tom Little KC.
She said: “I don’t think I could have done it in person – I would have been too upset to have seen him in person.
“I got very upset during the sentencing and I was crying. It was really emotional. I had to put a tissue over my face.
“It still feels like I’m in a dream or something. I knew him for a very long time and now he’s behind bars.”
Carrick was sentenced to 30 years imprisonment on Tuesday February 7 for raping and sexually assaulting a dozen women over a 17-year period.
