Horror moment blaze rips through 35-floor Dubai skyscraper near Burj Khalifa as debris seen plunging from apartments

A HUGE blaze has ripped through a 35-storey apartment block in Dubai.
The building, which is close to the world’s tallest skyscraper, the Burj Khalifa, caught on fire before flames engulfed every floor.

Authorities are yet to confirm whether anyone was injured in the fire.
Black char marks from the blaze could be seen stretching up the building.
The apartment block is part of a series of towers called 8 Boulevard Walk by Emaar, the state-backed developer in the emirate.

The fire broke out at around 2.20am and had been extinguished by 3.45am.
A series of fires in tall buildings in skyscraper-studded Dubai in recent years has revived questions about the safety of cladding and other materials used in the country.
On New Year’s Eve in 2015, a blaze raced through the Address Downtown, one of the most upscale hotels and residences in Dubai near the Burj Khalifa.
