A CHILLING discovery that could have helped find missing Levi Davis has been described as a “missed chance” after a person was spotted in the sea.
The 24-year-old former professional rugby player was last seen leaving an Irish pub in Barcelona on October 29 with his passport later being discovered in the city’s port area.

And a sighting of a person lost at sea around the time Levi was last seen has begged the question if it was him.
An unnamed member of the team of private detectives told La Vanguardia newspaper: “Davis’s friend living in Eivissa also pointed out that a day later cruise ship workers reported that a person was in the sea.
“Shortly after, the search operations were suspended because no one was missing on board the ship, neither the crew nor the passengers.

“We did not report Davis missing until several days later and his passport appeared in the port a couple of weeks later.”
The same reports were backed up by reporter Nick Dixon on Good Morning Britain, who claimed it could have been a missed chance.
In his TV report he said: “A man was in the water in distress in the port area close to a nearby cruise ship.
“A search was carried out but no body was found and everyone was accounted for, at least on the cruise ship.

“But it was some time later that the police realised Levi’s passport was found in that same area.”
The revelation comes just a day after it was reported Levi may have run up huge debts with Somali criminals as his party lifestyle spiralled out of control.
His family have hired a private investigator in a bid to find Levi amid reports his bank card and phone had not been used since he vanished.
One of the investigators said: “Davis came to Barcelona fleeing from these criminals.
“He had adopted a frenzied lifestyle and was in a very delicate situation, the truth is he was sure they were chasing him.
“In fact he was convinced they had tried to poison him on one occasion.”
The claims were put to Levi’s mother, Julie Davis, who broke down in tears on Good Morning Britain and was comforted by host Susana Reid.
Julie said: “There’s always that mother’s instinct.
“Just before he left, there was a message, I don’t know, powers from above, that said to me, ‘Give him a hug because you just don’t know if this is going to be your last’…”
