Birmingham New Street station evacuated due to ‘security alert’ with all train lines blocked and delays across network

A MAJOR UK train station has been evacuated over a ‘security alert’ leaving all lines blocked in and out.
Birmingham New Street station is one of the busiest in the country, but multiple reports online have surfaced, saying that it was evacuated this afternoon.

The company announced that delays will be felt across their entire network.
Both CrossCountry and National Rail have confirmed that disruption at New Street is expected to last until 4.15pm.
Passengers were reportedly told to move as far away from the building as possible.
Twitter user Tamsin Parnell wrote: “ust got evacuated from Birmingham New Street station and told to move as far away from the station as possible.
“That was scary!”
Another user reported that undercover police vehicles and ambulances were on the scene.
One commenter asked CrossCountry if there was any further information available, with the company replying “not yet”.
