The Cardinals were already without Kyler Murray in their Week 10 game against the Rams. Now, they’ll have to find a way to win without one of their top offensive weapons, as well.
Cardinals tight end Zach Ertz suffered an apparent knee injury after making a 12-yard catch in the first quarter at Sofi Stadium. He was able to walk off the field under his own power but went straight to the blue medical tent.
However, shortly thereafter, he was carted into the locker room. Arizona deemed him “questionable” to return.

Ertz has been a key cog in Arizona’s offense to begin the 2022 season. He had played 86 percent of the team’s snaps entering Week 10, by far the most among tight ends on the roster.
Without the 32-year-old, the Cardinals will have to rely on some of the depth they have at the position, which is talented but unproven.

Cardinals TE depth chart
Below is a look at the tight ends the Cardinals have on their active roster behind Ertz:
Rank | Player |
1 | Trey McBride |
2 | Stephen Anderson |
McBride had played the second-most tight end snaps for the Cardinals entering Week 10. The second-round rookie from Colorado State was the top tight end selected in the 2022 NFL Draft but has recorded just three catches for 24 yards to date.
Meanwhile, Anderson is a veteran, but he isn’t much of a receiving threat. He has recorded one catch for 2 yards this season, but his experience could prove valuable Sunday if McBride struggles.
The Cardinals also have eight-year pro, Maxx Williams, on the practice squad, so he could get playing time if Ertz has to miss time beyond Week 10. However, Williams wasn’t called up ahead of Week 10, so he will be unavailable against the Rams.
