Why is Bow Wow on AEW Dynamite? Rapper enters wrestling world with Jade Cargill rivalry

Pro wrestling’s reach has no limits. The entertainment industry has shown the sport is as popular as ever, with references in movies, TV shows, and even music. When both combine, it can expand the audience of the sport.

All Elite Wrestling is looking to take full advantage of that, thanks to one of their homegrown stars.

Jade Cargill, the undefeated AEW TBS Champion, has engaged in a back-and-forth with actor/rapper Bow Wow over the past few months, seemingly out of nowhere. Bow Wow recently called out Jade’s skills, even saying she has been running away from him on Twitter.

“Yo @Jade_Cargill so you was at the same arena yesterday that im playing tonight and skipped outta town so fast. I wanted to see that slow a– kick in person. Oh im sorry.. good morning.”

Outside of Twitter, Cargill took things a step further by confronting Bow Wow at his Miami show a few days ago. In a video released by TMZ, Cargill and her “Baddies” group of Kiera Hogan and Leila Gray are seen being escorted away from Bow Wow by security. That has led to coverage from all over the internet.

AEW founder and co-owner Tony Khan has taken notice of the feud and decided to take advantage of the situation. Khan announced that there will be a special update on AEW Dynamite tonight (November 23) regarding the feud.

It is unknown what could be next for Cargill and Bow Wow following the confrontation. Bow Wow recently posted on Twitter that he has been training with WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi at the KnokX Pro Academy in Los Angeles. Bow Wow told the Heels Pops Chairshots podcast that he is taking his training seriously. Before AEW, Bow Wow also had an interest in joining WWE.

“He (Rikishi) knows I don’t want to half a– it though. I’m working out, losing weight from Fast 9,” Bow Wow said, h/t Wrestling Inc.” I’m going to do it. And as he’s said, he’s not going to take it easy on me. There ain’t going to be no sugarcoating. You give me two months of this every day, I’m going to surprise people. It’s going to be like The Masked Singer. They didn’t know I can dance. They’re going to know I’m with it.”

Cargill herself told the “Ten Count” Podcast that Bow Wow would not be able to back up his words to her in the ring. Intergender matches are not uncommon in pro wrestling, but rarely does it happen within major promotions like AEW or WWE.

The Sporting News will provide updates as the feud between Bow Wow and Jade Cargill continues. Stay tuned!
