Louis van Gaal’s Dutch team were unbeaten as they finished top of Group A, with seven points from three games, a record matched by Berhalter’s charges in Qatar.

The two teams kickoff the highly-anticipated Round of 16 in Al Rayyan with both nations looking to make up for lost time after failing to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

With VAR decisions and officials dominating the final round of group stage matches, both sets of fans will be keen to know who the referee is at the Khalifa International Stadium on December 3.

FIFA have confirmed Brazilian referee Wilton Sampaio as the man in charge of this tie in his third game at the 2022 World Cup.

Sampaio took up fourth official duties at the start of the 2022 World Cup, before taking charge of two group games, including Poland’s 2-0 win over Saudi Arabia and the Netherlands 2-0 opening win over Senegal.
