There aren’t many fanbases that compare to Bills Mafia, particularly when it comes to what they will do for their team. One such Bills fan has made headlines for helping out Buffalo’s most essential player.

During the Bills’ Week 11 contest against the Browns, CBS broadcasters Andrew Catalon and James Lofton discussed a pair of fans who helped plow Josh Allen’s driveway to help him get to the airport to fly to Detroit. The fans were Mark Braun and Squirrel Winter.

Of course, Squirrel Winter, in particular, captured the attention of viewers.

Here’s what to know about Allen’s helpful neighbor.

Who is Squirrel Winter?

Dave “Squirrel” Winter is a retired farmer who lives near Allen, and who had been driving around clearing driveways in Orchard Park, according to Football Morning in America’s Peter King.

Winter found a driveway he described as a “quarter-mile long” with roughly 50-60 inches of snow with Braun and Norm Marshall trying to clear it, per King. Winter volunteered to help the men plow the driveway and said he cleared a good path, when Allen emerged from the garage at the end of the driveway.

In an interview with WGRZ, Winter explained Marshall directed him and kept him plowing in the center of the driveway.

Winter said it took about a half-hour to clear the driveway, and at the end of it, he shook Allen’s hand and wished him luck against the Browns, per King.

“I introduced myself. ‘Dave. Dave Winter. When you think of snow, think of me, Winter,'” he said, according to King. “‘We got that red machinery shop, the farm just down the road.’ Looked like he was in a hurry. Didn’t have time to chit-chat. So that was it.”

When Winter’s name came up on the broadcast, he said “it got wild on the phone,” according to WGRZ.

“It was enjoyable that I was able to be a part to help one of them team members, it doesn’t matter which one, be on that field today,” Winter said.

Winter has since become legendary in Buffalo. He went viral on Twitter and T-shirts are already being made recognizing what he did to help Allen play against the Browns.

And with his tractor and ability to clear the road, he’s the only person in the area who doesn’t have to adhere to the local travel advistory.
