Tyson Fury is back in action! The WBC heavyweight champion returns following a short retirement to face a familiar foe in Derek Chisora.
The two will face off for gold in England’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on December 3.
Fury is 2-0 against Chisora. He is also the heavy favorite, as Caesars has him as the -2000 favorite (Chisora is the +1000 underdog). Even with everything against Chisora, “The Gypsy King” believes this will be a closer fight than most expect it to be.
“You’re going to see Del Boy get knocked sparked out. I’m not playing games, this is not fun and games for me, this is strictly business,” Fury stated before the bout, via Yahoo Sports.
“So here’s the thing. When it’s business, people, close people, will rob each other. So why wouldn’t two strangers beat the f— out of each other for money? While we are in that ring fighting, there is no friendship. After the fight we can get a Diet Coke and a Sprite. Either way, you are going to see a good fight.”
Fury last fought in April, beating Dillian Whyte via TKO. Before that, he finished a trilogy against Deontay Wilder, going 2-0-1 against “The Bronze Bomber.” Retiring after the Whyte fight, Fury is ready to beat Chisora and move to an undisputed heavyweight title fight against Oleksandr Usyk.
Chisora, 38, is 2-3 in his last five fights. His last bout was a split decision win over Kubrat Pulev in July. Despite being the clear underdog, Chisora is ready to give it his all.
“Everybody’s got a chance in this life,” Chisora stated to BT Sport Boxing, via Boxing Scene. “I back myself every day in everything that I do. It’s gonna be hard but I’m prepared to go through the storm to go get what’s his and make mines. I have to knock this man out for me to win.”
