Today’s Best NBA Bets: Odds, lines, & picks for Wednesday

Grizzlies at Pelicans Prediction

H2H Odds (via TAB)

Grizzlies: $2.05

Pelicans: $1.80

The Pelicans host the Grizzlies in the first half of today’s TNT doubleheader. New Orleans opened as a 2.5-point favourite and the total at a hefty 227.5 points.

This matchup features plenty of star power, as Ja Morant will look to put on a show for the Grizz, and Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum will be suiting up for the home team.

Zion Williamson is questionable due to a right foot/ankle sprain, and this is the front end of a back-to-back for the Pels, so it wouldn’t be shocking if he was held out for a bit of extra rest. Jaren Jackson Jr. will be making his season debut for the Grizzlies, but Desmond Bane, Ziaire Williams, and Danny Green are out.

PICK: Memphis -1.5. The Grizzlies have rebounded after double-digit point losses under Coach Jenkins, and I expect that to happen again in this one, especially since I expect Williamson to sit.

Knicks at Jazz Prediction

H2H Odds (via TAB)

Knicks: $2.60

Jazz: $1.90

The Jazz host the Knicks, and Utah opened enters the contest with a line of -4.5. The total opened at a healthy 231.5 points, which suggests that both offenses should thrive.

Utah has surpassed all expectations so far and ranks fifth in offensive rating as Lauri Markkanen has taken his game to a new level. Since the Knicks own the league’s 24th-ranked defensive rating and just gave up 145 points to the Thunder, the Jazz will be looking to put up a ton of points in front of their home fans tonight. Utah has allowed a league-worst 56.9 points in the paint per game this year, so New York’s potential to convert high-percentage looks around the rim is pretty high. The Jazz will be at full strength, and Knicks center Mitchell Robinson is questionable.

PICK: Give me the over. Utah bleeds points around the rim, and the Knicks just gave up 145 to the Thunder.

Nets at Kings Prediction

H2H Odds (via TAB)

Nets: $2.05

Kings: $1.80

The Kings host the Nets in the second half of tonight’s TNT doubleheader. The Kings are the favourite at home, with and the total opened at 226.5 points.

The Kings rank second in the NBA in field goal percentage (48.4), so Brooklyn’s defense will be put to the test against a solid offensive team (sixth in offensive rating). The Nets rank first in the NBA in blocks per game (7.5) and are a slightly above-average defensive team (13th in defensive rating). It is the side of the floor I’ll be watching and ultimately should decide the game.

The Kings will be at full strength while Brooklyn is dealing with several injuries and absences. Kyrie Irving (team suspension) remains out, as does T.J. Warren (injury). Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Nicolas Claxton, and Yuta Watanabe are all questionable.

PICK: Kings -1.5. I’ve been a fan of how Sacramento has performed so far this year and definitely don’t trust the Nets.
