It seems only right that Tim Tszyu will fight for his first world title in his hometown of Sydney.
The 28-year-old super-welterweight has shot to stardom in recent years, cleaning out the division in Australia before turning his attention overseas.
Tszyu was due to face Jermell Charlo in Las Vegas for the undisputed title last month but the American suffered in injury, seeing Tszyu look towards a new challenge.
On Sunday, March 12, the son of boxing legend Kostya Tszyu will fight Detroit’s Tony Harrison at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena for the interim WBO super-welterweight world title.
Tszyu’s last fight in Australia, a one-sided, unanimous decision victory over Takeshi Inoue, was fought in front of a raucous crowd at Qudos Bank Arena and this one is expected to have significantly more interest.
