NRL Judiciary Round 3: Felise Kaufusi facing four-match ban, Mitchell Moses one of three Eels charged

Dolphins’ star signing Felise Kaufusi is facing an extended spell on the sideline, after being charged with 

Elsewhere, five separate players were charged following a high-intensity Manly vs. Parramatta game Thursday night, including Eels star Mitchell Moses.

Four players charged in Roosters-Rabbitohs boil over

It was billed as an NRL grudge match all week, and the Roosters vs. Rabbitohs did not disappoint on that front, with two players from each team charged by the judiciary. 

Roosters Joseph Manu and Fletcher Baker were both charged with careless high tackles, Manu’s being grade 2 and Fletcher’s being grade 1. 

For the Rabbitohs, it was a pair of contrary conduct charges for Cody Walker and Michael Chee Kam. 

Kaufusi facing four-match ban

The Dolphins kept their Cinderella start going in round 3, taking down the Newcastle Knights, but it wasn’t without issue, with key signing Felise Kaufusi facing a lengthy ban for Grade 2 dangerous contact against Jackson Hastings. 

Kaufusi is facing a four-match ban, but this could be reduced to three with an early guilty plea.

In the same game, Dylan Lucas from the Knights was also charged with a Crusher Tackle, facing a $2,000 fine or $1,500 with an early plea.

Mitchell Moses one of three Eels charged

Thursday was a tough night for Parramatta. Not only did they lose by four to Manly, but they also had three separate players charged by the judiciary.

Both Mitchell Moses and Maika Sivo were charged with Contrary Conduct; Moses faces a fine of $1,000 – or $750 with a guilty plea – while Sivo faces fines of $2500 or $1800 with a guilty plea, facing higher base fines as this is his second offence. 

Meanwhile, Reagan Campbell-Gillard is facing a $3,000 fine with a guilty plea, or potentially a two-game suspension, due to a Grade 1 Shoulder Charge.

Sea Eagles see two players charged for late-game tackles

Despite the win, there were still some negatives for Manly, with Taniela Paseka charged with a Careless High Tackle, and Josh Aloiai with Crusher Tackle, occurring in the 59th and 66th minute, respectively.

With early guilty pleas, Paseka is facing a $1,000 fine, Aloiai $1,500.

Storm player availability crisis to worsen

Melbourne Storm’s season continues to get more challenging with Jahrome Hughes facing a one-match ban with an early plea for making dangerous contact on Tanah Boyd.

If Hughes decides to contest the charge, he could be up for a two-week suspension.
