NFL Pro Bowl skills competition live results: Updated standings, winners, highlights from 2023 AFC vs. NFC games

This year’s Pro Bowl represents something of a crapshoot.

That’s not just because the festivities are taking place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, mind you. The league has given the annual competition a facelift, hoping to breathe life into an event that has tended to pass by on the calendar life a gentle breeze.

This year’s plans are likely the league’s most ambitious: eight different skills contests, as well as a 7-on-7 flag football game, spread over two days of competition.

It’s being billed as a true, quantifiable way to mark who is truly the cream of the crop in the NFL. And although it likely will have some kinks to work out, it should be nothing if not unique.

The winning conference in each skill competition earns three points, with a total of 24 available. The winner of each of the first two flag football games Sunday will earn six points.

Total points from the skills competition and the first two flag football games will be the starting score for the final flag football game. (For instance, if the AFC wins five of the eight skills competitions and the AFC and NFC split the first two flag football games, the score at the start of the final game would be 21-15 AFC.)

Pro Bowl best catch results

Best catch seems to be the Pro Bowl’s answer to the NBA Slam Dunk contest or MLB’s Home Run Derby. The top vote-getters from each conference will stand in front of a panel of celebrity judges and attempt to make the flashiest catches imaginable. Where’s Jerome Simpson when you need him?
