Manly star Tom Trbojevic has been dealt a fresh injury blow, failing to finish a pre-season training session on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old missed the majority of 2022 due to a shoulder injury suffered against the Eels, managing just seven games and leaving a huge hole in the Sea Eagles lineup.
Trbojevic had hoped to return to the Rugby League World Cup, but was unable to prove his fitness and missed Australia’s triumph in the tournament.
As first reported by The Daily Telegraph, the superstar fullback left the field and will be sent for scans for a hamstring injury.

Manly have since confirmed the news via a short media statement.
“Please be advised that Tom Trbojevic did not complete today’s field session due to injury,” the statement said.
“He will be sent for scans as a precautionary. The club will advise of any confirmed news once known.”
Trbojevic has a long history with hamstring problems, spending plenty of time on the sidelines in recent years.

The NSW and Kangaroos star hasn’t played more than 20 NRL games in a season since 2018 – including the 2021 campaign that saw him receive the Dally M Medal.
During the absence of Trbojevic, Manly’s season fell apart and they missed the finals, leading to the departure of head coach Des Hasler.
