The Warriors are currently dealing with some injuries to their core.
In addition to Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins, Golden State was without Stephen Curry in its loss to Utah on Wednesday.
It marked only the third game Curry has missed so far this season. Rest on the second night of a back-to-back and elbow soreness sidelined him for both of the team’s losses to the Pelicans in November, and he’s now dealing with an ankle injury.
What’s next for Curry? Here’s everything we know about his injury and the latest news on when he may return.
What is Stephen Curry’s injury?
Curry sat out Golden State’s matchup with Utah on Dec. 7 with left ankle soreness.
Curry appeared to suffer the injury in the third quarter of Golden State’s win over Houston on Dec. 3. He remained in the game and even played against the Pacers two days later, though he had his worst shooting performance of the season.
Here’s the play Curry appeared to tweak his ankle on:
How long will Stephen Curry be out?
The Warriors haven’t released an injury report for their next game yet, so it’s unknown if Curry will be available.
For what it’s worth, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said he thought Curry was “fine” after he tweaked his ankle against the Rockets. Sitting out Wednesday’s game against the Jazz will give Curry a total of four days off to recover before the Warriors face the Celtics on Saturday.
Following their meeting with the Celtics, the Warriors will travel to Milwaukee for the first of six straight games on the road. The Warriors will return home on Christmas Day when they play the Grizzlies.
