Injuries continue to take a toll on the 76ers, with superstar Joel Embiid joining an already extensive list of inactive players.
Embiid, who has already missed time this season, will now be sidelined with a left foot injury sustained during a stretch of dominant play. Philadelphia’s All-NBA center joins James Harden, Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxey as the fourth starter to be hampered by injury in recent weeks.

What is Joel Embiid’s injury?
On Monday, Nov. 21, the 76ers announced that Embiid had suffered a left mid-foot sprain. The news came less than 48 hours after Embiid scored 32 points in 36 minutes of action against the Timberwolves.

Due to his injury, Embiid will not be available when the Sixers host Ben Simmons and the Nets for a highly-anticipated game.

Through 12 games, Embiid is averaging 32.3 points, 10.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game, including a historic performance in which he scored 59 points, pulled down 11 rebounds, dished out eight assists and blocked seven shots on Sunday, Nov. 13.
Despite his dominance, Philadelphia is 6-6 with Embiid in the lineup and has been hovering around .500 all season.
How long will Joel Embiid be out?
All reports indicate that Embiid will be out for at least two games — the Sixers’ back-to-back against the Nets (Nov. 22) and Hornets (Nov. 23).
After sitting for two games, Embiid will be re-evaluated and his status will be updated accordingly.
