Arsenal continue to march on with 15 victories in their 18 league matches played thus far and another top team will attempt to trip them up on Sunday when third-place Manchester United visit the Emirates.
Both Manchester clubs are eight points away, with Manchester City having the chance to move to five points with a victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday.
Newcastle are a long win streak away from being in the hunt as well, but they’ll need to prove it again with a trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
We’re at midseason, but this coming weekend features a handful of desperation battles. The winner between Liverpool and Chelsea will still harbor top-four dreams, while the loser of the West Ham vs. Everton bottom-half match could see their manager fired. Bournemouth vs. Nottingham Forest is a fascinating battle between promoted sides with Leeds eager for the full three points at home to Brentford.

Premier League title race
If Arsenal can beat Manchester United on Sunday they will take another massive step toward their first Premier League title since 2004 and virtually eliminate one of the potential challengers.
Both Manchester City and Manchester United are eight points behind the Gunners with a full half season left to play. A Manchester United victory at the Emirates would leave the race wide open.

Champions League places & European places
The names that are the biggest surprises in the race for European places are Newcastle (fourth), Fulham (sixth), Brighton (seventh), and Brentford (eighth), with the Magpies looking like good bets to nip a Champions League berth by season’s end.
Manchester United also look like they have what it takes to stay in the top four, as they continue to stay ahead of chasers Tottenham, Liverpool, and Chelsea, all big clubs who are desperate to ensure they don’t miss out on qualifying for the Champions League.
Only the top four make it into the Champions League. Teams that finish fifth through seventh have a shot at Europa League and Conference League berths depending upon who wins the English domestic cup competitions.

Premier League relegation
It’s a real jumble of teams at the bottom of the Premier League with seven teams separated by just two points with several bottom clubs making up ground against those above them.
Last-place Southampton, Wolves, and Nottingham Forest all secured massive victories, and Forest are even up to 13th by virtue of their win over rivals Leicester City.
Meanwhile, it’s trouble for West Ham, Everton, and Leicester City, clubs who had great aspirations for 2022/23, but now their well-respected managers are all under fire.
