Chelsea are fresh off the heels of a sensational end to the January transfer window, splashing hundreds of millions of dollars in the market while other teams pinched pennies to simply patch holes.
Now the Blues must prove their worth on the field, while many of the new players acclimatise to the club. It’s unclear whether new signings like Enzo Fernandez will be ready to take the field in this match, but either way, the good feelings are back at Stamford Bridge, at least temporarily as fans look into a seemingly bright future.
Regardless, the here and now is that Chelsea are 10th in the Premier League, welcoming derby rivals Fulham to Stamford Bridge at risk of being doubled up on the season by an inferior local opponent they’ve long not bothered to worry about.
The Whites, meanwhile, are chasing a surprise look at a European place, and while that may ultimately prove to be unattainable, they currently sit seventh leaving supporters daring to dream. It’s been a fantastic season for the newly promoted club already, and they now have a shot at making history, having never done the league double over their west London rivals.

Chelsea vs Fulham odds
The Blues are heavy favorites at home in this match despite the result that left Fulham with all three points just a few short weeks ago. It seems that Chelsea’s incredible January transfer haul has given the betting market renewed fervor over the London side, especially after the exceptional early showing from new signing Mykhailo Mudryk.
Interestingly, it seems tough for bookmakers to figure out whether goals will come in this match. It seems that bettors are unsure whether Fulham can find the back of the net here, despite the ever-present danger of Aleksandar Mitrovic, who will be available for this match. The goal total and both teams to score are both almost a dead-even split, showing that fans believe in a renewed Chelsea to keep Fulham out of the net.

Chelsea vs Fulham team news
The injury news for Chelsea is deep. Joao Felix is on the final game of his three-match suspension picked up for his straight red card in the reverse fixture between these two teams on January 12, while Christian Pulisic, Ben Chilwell, N’Golo Kante, and Armando Broja are both certainly out with long-term injuries. The rest of Chelsea’s injured players, including Raheem Sterling, Reece James, Edouard Mendy, Wesley Fofana and Denis Zakaria are all close to a return, but it seems only James could be involved here. It might be too early for record signing Enzo Fernandez to start, but it’s possible Hakim Ziyech could be called upon after his loan to PSG fell short after bungled paperwork, although there were hard feelings over that fiasco which may still be a bit raw.
The biggest boost for Fulham comes in the form of their striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who missed the reverse fixture due to a yellow card suspension but is healthy to lead the line at Stamford Bridge. There is just one injured player missing for Fulham, as Neeskens Kebano remains out with an Achilles injury. New Deadline Day arrivals Sasa Lukic and Cedric are meant to serve squad roles and are unlikely to start in this match.

Chelsea vs Fulham key stats
- Fulham’s win over Chelsea on Jan. 12 was their first Premier League point against the Blues since 2012, snapping a run of seven straight league defeats. It was their first win over Chelsea since 2006, ending a stretch of 21 matches across all competitions, including 20 in league play.
- Chelsea have just two wins in their past 11 matches across all competitions: a 2-0 victory at home over relegation threatened Bournemouth in late December plus a narrow victory over Crystal Palace on January 15.
- Fulham’s recent 1-0 defeats to Newcastle and Tottenham mark just their second losing streak of the season and first since early October when they fell to Newcastle and West Ham consecutively. They have not lost three straight league matches the entire year.
Chelsea vs Fulham prediction
- Moneyline lean: Draw (+310)
- Against the spread lean: Fulham +0.5 (+135)
- Score prediction: Chelsea 2-2 Fulham
Chelsea are certainly buoyed by their sensational transfer window, but it’s a bit too early for many of the players to be a factor. Mudryk, however, showed he has gamechanging ability, and he will be an absolute handful for Kenny Tete on the flank.
Still, if any club has the strengths to deal with good wide talent, it’s Fulham, who have leaned on their full-backs Tete and Antonee Robinson all season, trusting them one-on-one with some of the Premier League’s best attackers.
There’s enough in this for both sides that a draw seems fair, given that Fulham have come back to Earth a bit but still continue to play great teams tough. Chelsea aren’t a great team right now, so it tracks that the visitors could get a result, but a point would be enough for them to go home happy. Taking the visitors on the double chance at plus odds seems like a decent play.
Chelsea vs Fulham: Best bet
- Pick: Both teams to score
- Odds: -110 (BetMGM)
Oddsmakers can’t seem to figure out whether there will be goals in this match, and that’s just silly. The answer is emphatically “yes.” Two of the four luckiest defensive sides in the Premier League face off in this match.
Based on expected goals to actual goals, Fulham have conceded the most chances of any team in the league, allowing 40.53 xG compared to just 30 goals. Meanwhile, Chelsea rank fourth in differential, conceding 21 goals on 28.86 xG this season. Chelsea have all kinds of issues with injuries to their best defensive personnel, and while Fulham have rising talent at the full-back position, their centre-back partnership is anchored by a renaissance for 35-year-old Tim Ream.
Last time both teams found the back of the net, and that should come to pass again.
Chelsea vs Fulham prop bet
- Pick: Half with most goals — 2H
- Odds: +105 (BetMGM)
Last time these two teams met, the second half proved tense and exciting, and there’s no reason why that won’t happen again.
Chelsea are the only Premier League club not to have conceded a first half goal at home, which is truly wild when you think about it. Backing that up, they have conceded just 3.45 xG in the first half at home, third best in the league.
However, they’ve conceded seven after the break at home, and Fulham are fourth in the league with 20 second half goals on the year. The Whites turn on the jets after the break this season, jumping from 11.6 first half xG (11th in the Premier League) to 17.37 xG after the break (5th in the Premier League).
This match is primed for another second half barn-burner.
Chelsea vs Fulham flier bet
- Pick: Fulham to win 2H & over 1.5 total goals
- Odds: +1000 (BetMGM)
Whether or not Fulham actually win the match is in question, but there should be goals in this for the Whites after the break. As mentioned previously, they typically ratchet up the pressure in the second half, and Chelsea do fall apart in the second half somewhat, especially given their injury troubles along the back line.
If the Blues are going to win this one, they’ll want to secure a big enough lead early on, because otherwise it could come crashing down late in the game just like it did last time, in a match that Mitrovic didn’t play in.
