Amanda Serrano returns to the place where she made history with Katie Taylor back in April on Aug. 6. The WBC, WBO, and IBO featherweight champion defends her titles inside Madison Square Garden against Brenda Carabajal.

Serrano is a seven-division world champion, having held gold in the super-featherweight, junior-featherweight, featherweight, lightweight, bantamweight, light-welterweight, and junior-bantamweight divisions. A Brooklyn native, Serrano was on a 28-fight win streak after suffering the first loss of her career in 2012. Serrano has beaten the likes of Fatuma Zarika, Heather Hardy, Eva Voraberger, and Daniela Romina Bermudez. She beat Hardy for the WBO and WBC featherweight titles and Bermudez for the IBO title.

Against Taylor, Serrano almost beat the undisputed lightweight champion. She almost won the fight in the fifth, but Taylor persevered. Taylor would end up winning via split decision. A rematch has since been discussed.

Carabajal made her pro debut in 2014. In ’19, Carabajal beat Elana Gradinar for the interim IBF featherweight title. She lost the title against Sarah Mahfoud in ’20. Carabajal is currently on a two-fight win streak. In May, she beat Deborah Anahi Dionicius for the interim WBO featherweight title.

The fight will be the co-main event under Jake Paul vs. Hasim Rahman Jr.
