Bills OLB Von Miller (knee) placed on injured reserve, to miss at least four games

Bills pass rusher Von Miller (knee) has been placed on injured reserve and will be forced out of Buffalo’s next four games at least, the team announced Thursday.

Miller suffered a lateral meniscus tear in the Bills’ Thanksgiving Day win over the Detroit Lions. The veteran had set his sights on a Week 14 return, but the team will instead ensure he’s fully healthy for the playoffs.

Bills general manager Brandon Beane confirmed such a strategy on Thursday, telling pool reporter Mark Gaughan that Miller did not suffer a setback in his rehab.

“He’s been doing treatment and trying to rehab it,” Beane said. “We don’t want to rush him back, and he’s a competitor. That’s why we love him. That’s why he’s so great. The competitor in him if he could wheel it out – there tonight, he would do it. We just think in talking to the medical people that the best decision right now is to give this time, and that gives him the best opportunity to help us down the stretch.”

Around The NFL will have more on this story shortly.
