Three people – believed to be a six-month-old baby and the child’s parents – have been killed in a horror crash between two trucks and a car on the Warrego Highway west of Brisbane.
Queensland Police said emergency crews pronounced the three dead at the scene on the Oakey Creek Bridge on the Warrego Highway after they were called about 11:20am on Tuesday.
The three victims of the crash are reportedly a mother, father and six-month-old baby.
Two other people were treated by paramedics following the crash.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesman told NCA NewsWire one person had been taken to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition and was being treated for a leg injury.
He said the second person did not require treatment.
The QPS spokeswoman said the forensic crash unit is expected to stay at the scene for several hours to investigate the cause the horror collision.
The major highway is expected to remain closed for some time and drivers are urged to seek an alternative route between Dalby and Toowoomba.
