Sophie Lloyd, Megan Fox: Machine Gun Kelly’s guitarist embroiled in split rumours

Megan Fox sent the rumour mill spiralling over Super Bowl 2023 weekend when she shared a cryptic Instagram post, swiped her account clean of pictures featuring fiance Machine Gun Kelly and later deactivated her account.

Her latest post on the social media platform – which instantly sparked break-up rumours – featured several images of her rocking a sexy black outfit that left little to the imagination. “You can taste the dishonesty/ it’s all over your breath,” she captioned it, quoting lyrics from Beyoncé’s Pray You Catch Me track off her Lemonade album, Page Six reports.

Before Fox hit the “deactivate” button, the actress responded to a fan who implied in the comments section of her latest post that the rocker’s notoriously hot female guitarist, 26-year-old Sophie Lloyd, was to blame for their rumoured break-up.

“He probably got with Sophie,” the Instagram user wrote, to which Fox, 36, fired back, “Maybe I got with Sophie.”

Lloyd is a British rock and metal guitarist. She rose to fame as a YouTube sensation when she started her popular account – which now boasts 848,000 followers – in 2011.

“I started playing guitar when I was around 10 years old after listening to Led Zeppelin in the car with my dad,” a biography on her official website reads. “Because I was a bit of an outcast, I had a lot of time to practise and this gave me an escape from reality, helped me overcome my anxieties and really gave me a sense of fulfilment.”

How did Sophie Lloyd meet Machine Gun Kelly?

MGK announced via Instagram in May 2022 that he was “adding a new friend” (Lloyd) to the band ahead of his highly anticipated, Mainstream Sellout Tour.

“Secret’s out! I’ll be joining Machine Gun Kelly on his Mainstream Sellout Tour this year,” Lloyd added in her own post at the time. “So incredibly excited and honoured to be given this opportunity.”

She has been rocking with MGK ever since, mostly recently performing with the Bloody Valentine singer at Sports Illustrated’s The Party on February 11, 2022.

“Touring with Machine Gun Kelly was amazing,” Lloyd gushed to NME in November 2022. “It was like one big family, and I felt so comfortable and safe from the get-go. I also love how he uses his music to tell a story and portray a message.”

Is Sophie Lloyd in a relationship?

Some fans were quick to speculate that MGK cheated on Fox with Lloyd. However, the guitarist has been in a five-year relationship with Christopher Painter – aka “The Painter” – who is a drummer and sound engineer.

Painter is fully supportive of his rock star girlfriend and hyped her up during various stops on the Mainstream Sellout tour. He’s even defended MGK in the past, thanking him for “bringing Sophie back in one piece” after the US leg of the tour wrapped in September 2022.

“Don’t bother with any of the bulls**t you read about MGK online. From what I experienced, they are the most amazing group of people you could meet,” he captioned a photo of them together. “The MGK camp have been so incredible to Sophie and have also made me feel so welcomed, and will always be grateful for that.”

Lloyd and her boyfriend celebrated their fifth anniversary together on January 20.

“Thank you for your thoughtfulness, kindness, generosity, care, silliness and your love,” Painter captioned a snap of them performing together. “You get me like no one else does and have been my rock for five solid years.”

Does Sophie Lloyd know Megan Fox?

Yes. Fox has attended plenty of MGK’s shows and tour rehearsals in the past and has seemingly formed a friendly relationship with everyone in his band.

However, it doesn’t appear that the two have publicly shared any pictures together on their respective Instagram feeds – prior to Fox deleting her account, that is.

Is Sophie Lloyd on social media?

In addition to her popular YouTube account, Lloyd also has a whopping 784,000 followers on Instagram. She mostly sticks to sharing photos and videos of her performing. Every Monday, she also posts a “Metal Monday” video of her rocking out to a cover.

While her content typically receives positive and encouraging comments, one of her latest posts – which featured several snaps with MGK at the aforementioned SI Super Bowl bash – has hundreds of people asking “what happened” between her, MGK and Fox.

Reps for Fox, MGK and Lloyd have not responded to Page Six’s requests for comment.
