One of the four bedrooms.
“We’re ex-farmers from the Meningie and Coomandook area, and wanted to relocate to the Hills and, being a broadacre farmer, I was looking for some land and we took one look at this place and fell in love straight away,” he says. “The views are incredible, you can see right through to the lakes and coorong, and you can see as far as Goolwa. Plus the home itself is incredible and has the feel of a grand Australian homestead. We really loved that and we loved the return verandas – it was like our dream home, and we’ve done quite a bit to it, including putting in the pool, which is amazing.”
The home has four bedrooms, open-plan living, shedding, ample outdoor entertainment space, and established gardens and quality grazing land for cattle and horses. Now downsizing, Mr Day says he will miss the home’s convenient location.
“We’re really isolated here – we can’t see the major centres – but at then same time we’re within walking distance of a supermarket and it’s so easy to get onto the freeway for an easy commute to the city,” he said. “It has been an amazing place to live.”
