FORMER rugby star Garrick Morgan has listed his sprawling estate in rural Toowoomba with views one agent describes as the best he has ever seen in real estate — and it even comes with heated dog kennels.
‘Trelorne’ is a boutique horse property with breathtaking escarpment views sweeping from Mt Perseverance to Toowoomba across Flinders Peak and Cunningham’s Gap.
The historic property at 87 Alf Road in Mount Luke was the original dairy servicing the local community, but is now a 4ha paradise complete with fenced paddocks, stables, an arena and the ultimate pool and outdoor area.

Marketing agent Mark Costello of iThink Property said the property had attracted enquiries from across Australia, including Melbourne and Sydney, which was not surprising given its multi-functionality and appeal.
Mr Costello said it was rare for such an offering to come to market.
“A horse property set up so well on the escarpment,” he said. “I’d say they’re probably the best views I’ve ever seen in real estate.”
Records show Garrick and his wife, Sue, paid $1.2m for the property in January 2018.
They have bought another block of land in the area and plan to create a similar property.
Garrick and Sue were the masterminds behind transforming the Mount Luke property into a resort-style retreat through additions such as a 10m magnesium mineral pool, a firepit with built-in seating, an extensive outdoor entertaining area, and a full-spec equestrian arena.
Bathed in clouds and known for its rich-green countryside, the property is located in
what’s known as the high country hamlets, about 20 minutes northeast of Toowoomba, about 650m above the coastal plain high up on the Great Dividing Range.
The main homestead has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with an outdoor bath on the wraparound timber deck.
There is also a one-bedroom guest house with ensuite and carport.
A fully insulated shed features airconditioning, a fireplace, and epoxy floors.
Even the dog kennels are purpose-built, both with heating and a sun deck.
Added features include two bores, a UV water filtration system, and a 20kw solar system.
For the horse lovers, there are two large stables and yards, a feed room, a wash bay, a hitching rail, a tack room, and four paddocks.
Mr Costello said the market in Toowoomba was showing no signs of slowing down, with listings increasing in the lead-up to the new year.
“I think a lot of those southern buyers are seeing the value,” he said. “What they can get for $3m here is not comparable to down there.”
Garrick Morgan represented Australia 24 times and Queensland 63 times in rugby union from 1990 to 1998.
