A gunman is on the run after a man was shot and killed in the front yard of a Brisbane home in the early hours of the morning.
Police attended the scene at Cliveden Ave in Oxley around 3.25am after reports that a man had been fatally shot.
A crime scene has been declared.
The crime scene is across the road from Corinda State School so police have closed the drop off zone on Tuesday morning.
Parents are being asked to allow extra time to get their children to school safely, as the crime scene is expected to remain in place past 9am.
The shooting joins a string of shootings that have taken place in the sunshine state over the weekend.
A 24-year-old man was fatally shot by police at Airlie Beach in the Whitsundays on Saturday.
On the same day further south in Surfers Paradise, a 20-year-old man was shot in the chest by a person inside a moving vehicle.
His injuries were non-life threatening.
