Aucklanders woke to the sight of destruction on their roads and properties – a day after a severe thunderstorm swept across the region.
Yesterday, heavy rain and winds heavily impacted commute (including airport travel, ferries and roads) and caused land slips, flooding damage to properties, and deaths.

People were briefly trapped in the small Fresh Collective supermarket in Mt Albert, Auckland, as water rose at the doors after the heavy rain.
