Kohl’s Corp.’s board of directors has appointed Tom Kingsbury as chief executive officer after serving in the interim role.
Mr. Kingsbury took on the temporary position after Michelle Gass left the department-store chain in December to become the president of Levi Strauss & Co.
He has over 40 years of retail industry experience serving in executive leadership and board roles, Kohl’s said. He led Burlington as the president and CEO from 2008 to 2019.
Mr. Kingsbury joined the Kohl’s board in 2021 as part of a settlement with activists. He will remain on the board, the company said.
