France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.54% By Investing.com

Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the declined 0.54%, while the index lost 0.56%.

The best performers of the session on the were BNP Paribas SA (EPA:), which rose 3.14% or 1.51 points to trade at 49.38 at the close. Meanwhile, AXA SA (EPA:) added 3.11% or 0.78 points to end at 25.86 and TotalEnergies SE (EPA:) was up 1.16% or 0.65 points to 56.88 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Legrand SA (EPA:), which fell 5.44% or 4.20 points to trade at 73.00 at the close. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:) declined 5.26% or 2.59 points to end at 46.52 and Renault SA (EPA:) was down 3.78% or 1.19 points to 30.33.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Elior Group (EPA:) which rose 6.29% to 2.27, Orpea SA (EPA:) which was up 4.11% to settle at 8.65 and Trigano SA (EPA:) which gained 3.82% to close at 103.20.

The worst performers were CGG SA (EPA:) which was down 24.08% to 0.69 in late trade, Faurecia (EPA:) which lost 8.69% to settle at 13.50 and Legrand SA (EPA:) which was down 5.44% to 73.00 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 339 to 205 and 94 ended unchanged.

Shares in TotalEnergies SE (EPA:) rose to 5-year highs; rising 1.16% or 0.65 to 56.88.

The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.10% or 18.20 to $1,631.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.67% or 1.50 to hit $88.50 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.22% or 1.17 to trade at $94.99 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.71% to 0.97, while EUR/GBP rose 1.24% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.45% at 112.84.
