Apple
will start shipping a foldable iPad tablet in 2024, Taiwan-based analyst Ming-Chi Kuo asserted in a series of tweets.

“I am looking forward to the folding iPad in 2024, and expect this product to benefit shipments and improve the product mix,” wrote Kuo, an analyst with TF International Securities. The analyst offered few details Sunday on the expected device, other than to say it will feature a carbon fiber kickstand.

The analyst also tweeted that he is “taking a cautious approach to iPad shipment for 2023,” projecting a year-over-year decline of 10% to 15%.

He wrote that “there may be no new iPad releases” in the next nine to 12 months, with a refreshed iPad mini likely in the first quarter of 2024.

Kuo added that China-based Anjie Technology will supply the kickstands for the foldable iPad.

It’s worth noting that there have been reports about
Apple
working on a foldable iPad at least since 2019, and so far none has materialized.

Apple couldn’t immediately be reached for comment, but it has a clear policy of not commenting on rumors or unannounced products.

Apple stock was off 1.2% on Monday at $144.15.
