National Lists

TechEdTalk email list for all technology educators
A list for teachers interested in discussing the learning area of technology, and list members are welcome to contribute to and initiate discussions.

The list can be used to:

    • discuss Technology Learning Area ideas and issues
    • promote curriculum projects and advertise professional development events
    • share curriculum resources
    • ask questions and help colleagues
    • interact with special guests, people with expertise in technology from education and industry
    • link to Web pages

The list is automatically managed by software called 'majordomo'. To join the list send an email to majordomo@edna.edu.au with the message subscribe techedtalk in the body.

The Technology and Mathematics Education list
This list has been initiated to develop a network of mathematics educators who wish to monitor, support and promote the development of technology enriched approaches to mathematics education in Australian schools.
Membership of the list will include primary and secondary school teachers, tertiary mathematics and mathematics education lecturers, and representatives from the school systems in each of the states and territories. The TAME-L list also encourages overseas members, and welcomes their contributions on issues relevant to the TAME theme. ACT-Schools
This list began as a way of providing technical support and advertising local events for teachers in the ACTEIN Project in Canberra. It is becoming an important way for many local teachers to discuss local issues and projects and organise local professional development activities. QSITE-Community
This list collects Queensland teachers who are gaining Internet access across the state and draws them into the professional development and training activities of the Queensland Society. The list advertises local events, provides online technical and curriculum support and provides information about educational Internet sites and communities. TAS-IT

STEM Students, Teachers and Electronic Media
STEM is a network of Victorian educators developing and implementing teaching strategies to effectively use computer communications (including internet tools) across the surriculum. STEM participants are from primary and secondary schools in all sectors. STEM meets face to face twice per term and also through the electronic mailing list STEM-L.
The mailing list is designed to support teachers creating projects and activities that utilise various forms of electronic mail. STEM had its beginnings in the Bulletin Boards of Melbourne and continues to be focussed around a number of BBSs and their downlink "points". Join this list by emailing STEM co-ordinator

This list supports teachers who have accounts at Murdoch University on Cleo and welcome subscriptions from any Western Australian teachers, schools and related organisations who have accounts on other hosts. Echalk is concerned broadly with professional development and curriculum issues in schools, including but not limited to use of the Internet and other technological innovations in education. The Forum - http://rite.ed.qut.edu.au/oz-teachernet/forum/index.html
The Forum is a discussion place for issues and topics of general interest to teachers. The discussions will be for short periods of up to a month and focus on a single topic or discussions for special interest groups. Access will be via the oz-TeacherNet web site. Teachers anywhere in Australia can initiate a discussion using the online form.

The EDTECH discussion list was created to bring together faculty, educators, students and "interested others" in the field of educational technology to share ideas and information. Frequent topics of discussion include:

  • problems in using educational technology and how to solve them
  • articles and books subscribers have found stimulating and worthwhile information about course offerings and edtech graduate program requirements at various schools
  • notable educational hardware and software, as well as junk one should avoid
  • conferences and events related to educational technology
  • current dissertations and research projects in educational technology
