Agriculture: A Perspective for Australian Schools
describes the unique contribution of agriculture within the
school curriculum. It arose from the concern expressed by teachers of
agriculture at the scant attention given to agriculture as a context for
learning in schools by the nationally derived curriculum statements and
profiles endorsed in 1993 by the Australian Education Council.
This document explores the ways in which agriculture can be used to support
the achievement of learning across three areas of learning -
Technology, Science and Studies of Society and Environment.
Agriculture: A Perspective for Australian Schools
is available at no cost from the NAAE executive and the President of each
of the State professional associations of teachers of agriculture.
