VCTA Comview Conference: What’s On?

Monday 29 November to Wednesday 1 December 2004
La Trobe University, Bundoora, Victoria

Wednesday 30 November, Comview 'on the move'. Sessions will be hosted by industry and professional associations at various Melbourne key locations. Keep your eyes on ComNET (www.vcta.asn.au) for information. The Comview program will be available early October.

Membership

VCTA has two principal objectives. These are:

  • to provide professional support and resources for those teaching/learning within the curriculum area concerned with commerce/business education
  • to provide representation of members at relevant state, national and international forums.

The association has a membership of approximately 1200, including interstate and overseas members.

Resources

Four issues of the association's journal Compak are produced each year. Each issue contains sections focused on Accounting, Business Management, Commerce in SOSE, Economics, Information Technology, Legal Studies and Industry and Enterprise.

The association participates in the national enterprise competition CPA Plan Your Own Enterprise and the Accountants in Action Competition. Details of these competitions are forwarded to schools during the year.

Professional Development

The association conducts an extensive professional development program throughout the year, the highlight of which is the annual Comview Conference, held in late November each year.

As a member of the Studies of Society and Environment Subject Associations of Victoria (SOSE SAV), VCTA works with other members of this consortium to implement professional development programs and support to teachers and schools in implementing SOSE in the Curriculum Standards Framework.
