MembershipThe New Zealand Commerce and Economics Association (NZCETA) represents almost 1000 members from throughout the country. Members teach and work in Secondary Schools, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education or other educational areas. Since its relatively modest beginnings NZCETA, which has the largest subject association membership in New Zealand, has developed into a multi-faceted and comprehensive organisation, reflecting and hopefully catering for, the diverse interests of its wide membership. The Association also has a separate products division call Curriculum Services. OverviewNZCETA is a subject association which is significantly different. Our focus is on educators in accounting, business education, economics, legal studies and information technology. We have a significantly different range of services available to those who wish to enhance their professional skills and performance. It is our goal to provide the support and opportunity for development which will contribute to a significantly different and improved outcome for the students in your classroom. The New Zealand Commerce and Economics Teachers' Association Inc. is administered by educators for educators, and is affiliated to Business Educators' Australasia. The New Zealand Commerce and Economics Teachers Association was formed in 1959 and became an incorporated association under the Incorporated Societies’ Act (1908), 1978. There is an elected National Executive comprising representatives from Regional Branches. A Management Team consisting of a National President and two National Vice Presidents oversee day to day running of the Association, in conjunction with CETA Administration staff. The Association maintains a close liaison with the Ministry of Education, the New Zealand Qualifications Authority and professional bodies such as the New Zealand Law Society, Enterprise New Zealand Trust Incorporated and the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.
