Mission

What are we trying to achieve?

Fostering environmental education for a sustainable future.

Vision

Where do we want to be in 2 years/ 2+ years?

To have a robust national organisation with membership that is actively involved in the work of AAEE through supportive and innovative network and partnership opportunities.

The AAEE strategic objectives for the incoming Executive are to:

  • champion environmental education using a national approach as an organisation
  • ensure major environmental issues in Australia are being addressed by quality environmental education
  • increase the availability and impact of quality environmental education in the broader community to meet their needs
  • foster creative and innovative approaches for eco-solutions in communities through quality environmental education.

Personnel

AAEE has an Executive and Council that makes decisions, plans and acts for the organisation. The constitution provides for a roving Executive usually residing in one of Australia’s states or territories for a period of 2-3 years. The Council broadens the decision making by ensuring that there are representatives from across the nation as Chapter or Affiliate Delegates as well as representation from other functions of the organisation, for example the editors of the Australian Journal of Environmental Education, the newsletter, and conference convenor.

Currently, the AAEE Executive resides in New South Wales. For a complete list of Executive and Council members please visit the AAEE website.
