Travel Buddies are soft toys or glove puppets that travel to other places as representatives of your class and stay in touch via email. Find a partner now on the travel-buddies list.

Book Rap
Book raps are online discussions about favourite, popular or set books. Join in one of the scheduled Raps by checking out the dates and titles from the Book Rap bookshelf (available February) or join the book-rap list now to find partners to share the books of your choice.

Project Atmosphere Australia
Students record, forecast, measure elements of the weather as well as collect weather folklore and write about the impact of weather on the lives and livlihoods of members of their community. Using telecommunications, students check their forecasts with students in other schools across Australia. Register your interest now on the teacher's list for this project.

Christmas Cards Around the Web
Toshiba's Christmas Cards Around the Web is an international internet project for school students. Students can create their own Multimedia Christmas Card, or Holiday Greetings Card to send via the World Wide Web.
The project is open to all school students aged 5 to 18. All entries are encouraged, from those containing still graphics to those containing a range of multimedia elements such as sound, animation, video and interactivity.

Schools on the Web
Free Web Space - Microsoft, Optus Vision and Aussie SchoolHouse / oz-TeacherNet have recently announced a new program, Schools on the Web, that will provide every K-12 school in Australia the opportunity to have a presence on the World Wide Web at no cost. The only requirement is that the school already have an Internet connection and an email account.

Workskills Internet Challenge
The Interactive Multimedia Challenge is a teams based Web publishing project for Secondary and TAFE students. It involves the design and production of a web based information resource based on one of the 44 WorkSkill occupational categories. Teams will each create a dynamic and informative resource that, at the culmination of the project will be linked to form a community resource on occupations.

Thinkquest
ThinkQuest is an international annual contest that challenges students, ages 12 to 18, to use the Internet as a collaborative, interactive teaching and learning tool.

To make participation for Australian schools a little more relevant and practical, Aussie SchoolHouse and its sponsors will host the contest across Australia providing local support and resources for participants.
